Old Testament

This is the briefest summary of the Old Testament that I can make.  God made humans out of love, in the image of love.  Humans didn’t trust in God’s Wisdom for knowing right from wrong and tried to seize autonomy for themselves.  God still loved them.  Humans want their own way.  God still loves them and helps them with telling them how to live.  The same as saying don’t hit your thumb with a hammer or you will get hurt. Humans tell God, “Yes, God we will follow you!” and then proceed to hit their thumbs with hammers and when they get hurt they cry out, “God why are you punishing us!” God still loves them.  Tells them how to live. And that He will send a Redeemer. Humans tell God, “Yes, God we will follow you!” and then proceed to hit their thumbs with hammers and when they get hurt they cry out, “God why are you punishing us!” And God still loves them.

Throughout the Old Testament you see this pattern over and over again.  Hmm.  Kind of reminds me of now.  The more things change the more they stay the same.  BUT, now we have something they didn’t so we don’t have to keep breaking our promise to God.  We have Jesus!

Peace be with you.
