Bind Yourself to Christ

A few years ago, our priest these bracelets made for everyone for Christmas, and then we did it again at Lent.  Basically, the bracelet was a way of telling the world, subtly that you are binding ourselves to Christ in as much as it is a mnemonic device for us.  You will need a piece of cord about 16 inches long.  Make a knot with one end around the middle of the cord and then knot the other end around the middle as well.  Now you can slip it on and adjust it.  When you put it on you can pray, “I bind unto myself today the strong name of the Trinity, by invocation of the same, the three in one, the one in three.”  This is from the song Breastplate of St. Patrick – it differs from the original one.

It is easier to understand in the video.

Peace be with you.
