Birthday Cake

2 1/2 cups flour

2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 1/4 teaspoon salt

Mix. Preheat oven to 350.


1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter

1 1/4 cups sugar

3 eggs

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

1 cup milk

Mix with previous.  Pour into buttered and floured pans. Bake 35 – 40 minutes



3 cups confectioners’ sugar

1 cup butter

1 teaspoon Vanilla

Blend in a mixer about three to four minutes.


Roast Beef in Cranberry Demi-glace with Garlic Brie Polenta

Cranberry Demi-Glace


1 tablespoon of orange zest

1 tablespoon of lemon zest

3/4 cup port

1 pound fresh cranberries

Let simmer 20 minutes, do not let it get dry.


3 tablespoons red currant jelly

Pinch cinnamon

Pinch cayenne

Add to previous and bring to a boil, remove from heat.


Juice of one lemon

Juice of one orange

Add to previous and set aside.


1/2 pound roasted beef, sliced thin

Top with previous and serve.



1 cup corn meal

2 cups chicken stock

1 cup water

2 cloves crushed garlic

Cook over medium heat for 20 minutes until thickened.


1 cup sour cream

½ cup brie

½ cup chopped green onions

1 tablespoon basil

Add to previous and serve beside the roast beef.


London Broil Roast

2 pounds London broil

Dredge in…



Brown in olive oil.


1 large red onion, chopped

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 tablespoons Worcestershire

1/4 cup Bar B Que sauce

1/4 cup catsup

1 tablespoon chili powder

3/4 cup red wine

1/4 cup whiskey

1/2 cup balsamic vinegar

1/2 cup brown sugar

Add to previous, cover and bake 350 for three and a half hours.


1/2 cup butter

2/3 cup Masa

3/4 cup water

1/4 cup cream corn

1/4 cup corn meal

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream

Mix all together and steam one hour.  Serve with previous and new potatoes and carrots.



3 cups sugar

¾ cup corn syrup

½ cup water

Heat in saucepan until 248 degrees.


2 egg whites

1 teaspoon Amaretto

Beat stiff and then drizzle in syrup and beat 20 to 25 minutes.


1 cup chopped pecans

Stir in to previous. Let dry.
