Waning Crescent – Day 23

The moon is change.  The moon is dust.  During this moon let it remind us:

For you are dust, and to dust you shall return. – Genesis 3: 19

As we let go of our physical selves we ask the question, “What did I do to deserve this?”  And then we are filled with pain and guilt for the past, things we’ve done and things we didn’t.  As we discussed before Adam and Eve were not banished from Eden as a punishment and neither were their deaths a punishment.  Neither is yours. God forgives all things.  God is Love.

You see, the death of the body is not your fault.  It is merely change.  Everything changes.  We change.  The moon changes and it also reminds us that the seasons change.  From beginning in darkness like Winter, to the first quarter like Spring, halfway between light and darkness, moving on to Summer with its full brightness and then slowly fading back to Autumn.  The Moon shows us the year and our lives in the course of a month.

Each change, each season brings its joys and its sorrows, its pleasures and its woes.  Winter has its beautiful snows and its freezing darkness.  Spring brings with it flowers and allergies.  Summer has its growth and its droughts.  Autumn has its beautiful leaves and its chill winds.  Each season brings its holidays and the sorrows of things past.

We take time during the seasons to anticipate the changes and to reflect upon what has now past.  As the Moon makes its slow sweep back towards the darkness of a new beginning we remember the seasons and what they truly mean.

For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted…  a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; – Ecclesiastes 3: 1 – 4

What season is this for you?  Is it your time to mourn or to dance?  This is a truth, all these things are temporary.  The seasons will change as the Moon changes, as you change.  What will you do with the time you have left?

Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let’s do what is good toward all men. – Galatians 6: 9 – 10

Life is transient, and fragile and very, very human.  Handle yours with care.

Please join me in prayer.

“I come to you, my God, with a grateful heart.  Thank You, O Lord for surrounding me with your unconditional Love and Divine Acceptance.  Thank You, O Lord for showering me with all your sacred blessings.  Please open my heart so that I am truly grateful for all that you have done, are doing and will do, now and forever.  I am grateful for the seasons.  I am grateful for the changes in life.  I am grateful that all things are temporary, that sorrows are not forever. I am grateful that you will forgive me.  I am grateful for Physical Death because that is how I return to You.  I am grateful for Your Love.  For all these things – Thank You, O Lord.  Amen.”

Please meditate and listen to God.

Peace be with you.
