Tonight is the last quarter. The moon is half light and half darkness. It is half full. Are you half full? Are you a little more than full? Think on the last meal you ate, think of how good it tasted, how that food is nourishing you right now. We have an interconnectedness with food. We can’t live without it. But when we turn the beautiful balance that God gave us into excess of one kind or another it becomes gluttony. Gluttony is commonly thought of as over eating or over drinking, but it is more than that. It is over-indulging in anything!
No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. – 1 Corinthians 10: 13
Gluttony is temptation. Gluttony is when your life is out of balance. Are we working too much and sleeping too little? Are we eating too much and exercising too little? Watching TV too much and talking too little? It is time to reevaluate and rebalance our lives. How is your life going? Are you happy? If not, why aren’t you changing it? Life is all about change. Infancy, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, old age – everything changes, people, plants, animals, rivers, oceans, planets. Life will change whether you want it to or not. But each changes brings new joys or new sorrows. How we react to them is up to us. We need to maintain our balance, hold on to our equilibrium or we will fall. How have you fallen? Could you have stopped it?
You therefore, beloved, knowing these things beforehand, beware, lest being carried away with the error of the wicked, you fall from your own steadfastness. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. – 2 Peter 3: 17 – 18
Bring your life into balance, get enough sleep, and exercise. Eat more nutritious foods, drink less alcohol. Despair less, and pray more. When life is in balance, it is easier to be understanding of the changes. It is said that happiness is a state of mind. No matter what is happening, you can still be happy. You can be cold, wet and miserable or you can be cold and wet. Your choice.
For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. – 2 Timothy 1: 7
Happiness is achieved when life is balanced. Life is balanced when you realize who you are and not who you think you want to be. Deep down, you are who you should be. You know what you must do.
Please join me in prayer.
“I come to you, my God, with a grateful heart. Thank You, O Lord for surrounding me with your unconditional Love and Divine Acceptance. Thank You, O Lord for showering me with all your sacred blessings. Please open my heart so that I am truly grateful for all that you have done, are doing and will do, now and forever. I am grateful for balance, and contentment. I am grateful for You letting me know when things aren’t the way they should be. I am grateful that I can open my heart to see what I need to, to know what I need to do through Your guidance. I am grateful for Your Forgiveness. I am grateful for Your Love. For all these things – Thank You, O Lord. Amen.”
Please meditate and listen to God.
Peace be with you.
