Waning Gibbous – Day 15

The majesty of the Full Moon is beginning to fade.  This night is when the light begins to wane.  As the moon changes heading back towards the darkness it reminds us how if we don’t give out our blessings then they become sins.  Have you ever thought of that?

“You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its flavor, with what will it be salted? It is then good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men. You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can’t be hidden. Neither do you light a lamp, and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house. Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” – Matthew 5: 13 – 16

God has given you food and shelter, all the necessities of a physical life.  But if you think of only your needs, and not trust in God, you become afraid of not having what you need, then not having what you want and then you become greedy.  There is no need for greed.  It is time with this waning moon to throw out Greed and be thankful for what He has given! We are bountiful!  Thank You, O Lord God!  Isn’t it nice?  We have a house.  We have food in our bellies.  We have not just clothing but fashion!  What could we possibly do to thank God for all of this?

He answered them, “He who has two coats, let him give to him who has none. He who has food, let him do likewise.” – Luke 3: 11

What bounty do you have?  What do you have stored up?  What fills your garage, basement, storage shed, closets, and drawers?  Do you need it?  Do you use it?  Do you even know what’s there?  I will not go into depth here since I covered this in another post, “Real Minimalism”.   But let me reiterate here, you don’t need stuff to be the kind of person that you want to be.  If you make a list of what kind of person you want to be – honest, kind, giving and loving, nowhere on that list is four houses, seven cars and a billion dollars in the bank.  Think about it, then let go of your greed.  You don’t need it.

Please join me in prayer.

“I come to you, my God, with a grateful heart.  Thank You, O Lord for surrounding me with your unconditional Love and Divine Acceptance.  Thank You, O Lord for showering me with all your sacred blessings.  Please open my heart so that I am truly grateful for all that you have done, are doing and will do, now and forever.  I am grateful for the bounty You give to me.  I am grateful for the ability to share that bounty with others.  I am grateful that all things that You do for me.  I am grateful that I can do things for others.  I am grateful for Your Forgiveness.  I am grateful for Your Love.  For all these things – Thank You, O Lord.  Amen.”

Please meditate and listen to God.

Peace be with you.
