Waxing Gibbous – Day 8

The Moon is continuing to shed even more light!  The Moon grows in light as we grow in wisdom.  The wisdom of God.  We grow in wisdom as we grow to understand that all of the physical things of this world don’t really matter.  To have the wisdom that we can’t take it with us.  The wisdom of knowing the value of the things of God rather than the things of man.  An hour in quiet prayer is far more gratifying than an hour at the mall, I don’t care what is on sale.

He spoke a parable to them, saying, “The ground of a certain rich man brought forth abundantly. He reasoned within himself, saying, ‘What will I do, because I don’t have room to store my crops?’ He said, ‘This is what I will do. I will pull down my barns, and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. I will tell my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years. Take your ease, eat, drink, be merry.”’

“But God said to him, ‘You foolish one, tonight your soul is required of you. The things which you have prepared—whose will they be?’ So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.” – Luke 12: 16 – 21

We have Free Will.  We have freedom to choose what we wish, anything we wish.  Why choose what is lesser instead of what is greater?  Time to do a little house cleaning.  Look around your house, at all of your things.  Is your body out of balance with your soul?  What do you see?  What do you spend your life on?  Do you spend it on entertainment? Big TV, lots of games, music?  Do you spend it on play? Surf boards, skateboards, hockey equipment?  What exactly do you see?  I don’t mean that you should get twelve thousand saint statues and crucifixes – please, please don’t.  God is not a decorating scheme.  What I mean is, is your spiritual life, your treasures in Heaven just as vast?  Are they more important?

In this second quarter of the Moon, as it grows towards full, perhaps we should re-balance our lives.  Readdress what is truly important.  If we truly value what God values, do we act like it?  Can we do better?

Please join me in prayer.

“I come to you, my God, with a grateful heart.  Thank You, O Lord for surrounding me with your unconditional Love and Divine Acceptance.  Thank You, O Lord for showering me with all your sacred blessings.  Please open my heart so that I am truly grateful for all that you have done, are doing and will do, now and forever.  I am grateful for the gift of Wisdom.  I am grateful for ability to store up treasures in Heaven.  I am grateful for being able to see that this life is finite and while I enjoy it, this is not all there is.  I am grateful for Your Love.  For all these things – Thank You, O Lord.  Amen.”

Please meditate and listen to God.

Peace be with you.
